KRP's research park network of over 400 research and science parks includes International Association of Science Parks (IASP) and the Association of University Related Research Parks (AURRP). A search engine with 10 different headings such as News, Mystery, World and Japan, that are specifically designed for use by children. This service encourages children to follow up their interests to find out more, while parents and schools can rest assured that the material has all been checked for its suitability for children.

Opening of the Studio Complex
The 2-story 1500m2 Studio rental laboratories also known as the Garage Laboratories, is especially dedicated to multimedia, is currently rented by 10 companies. Special facilities include double the electricity capacity than a usual office, fast internet links via optic fibers.

Multimedia Yorozu Consulting
This began as a consulting services for tenant companies in KRP. KRP supports the development of the multimedia tenant companies by representing their services to clients. After receiving a certain project from a client, it is divided among the tenant companies that are most suitable. This has further developed to business matching for tenant companies with the wide range of contacts that the Research Park maintains.

Start of Internet Service Provider within KRP
Kyoto-Inet (http://www.kyoto-inet.or.jp/) for individuals, and Kyoto-Pnet (http://www.picky.or.jp/index.html) for companies, was established. Any company which sets up in KRP can immediately be connected to the provider via optic fibre.

Opening of the KRP Soft Laboratories
This was the completion of rental laboratory space fully equipped with telephone cabling for LAN, and a free access floor for software related research.
