Abstract
The development of the regional economy is the process of taking full advantage of the
regional conditions to form the competitive industries or the industry clusters and achieving the
optimal benefits. It’s the core for developing the regional economy to form the competitive
industries or the industry clusters. Industry competitiveness defines the specific industry position in
the international market. Trade association is the result from the development of market economy
and also one of the necessary modes of economy management in a mature economic system. Trade
association is also the bridge between the government, enterprises and the market, and it plays very
important role in establishing the market order and maintaining the development of the industry.
With the development of China’s market economy, Ningbo Da Xie Development Zone Safe
Industry Association (shortened as NDSIA) is established and actively fulfills the function of being
representative and agent, but it also faces some problems. Take NDSIA for example, the core
thesis is to analyze the factors of industry competitiveness and bring out the methods to promote
the industry international competitiveness.
Firstly, the thesis reviews the research on industry competitiveness at home and abroad, clears
up the theory basis and evaluation of the industry competiveness and summarizes the current
situation of research on industry competiveness. Based on these, the thesis uses Michael Porter’s
diamond model to deeply analyze the advantages of disadvantages of NDSIA. Secondly, the thesis
introduces the experience on how the relevant trade association promotes their superstar enterprises
competitiveness in US, Japan and Germany. Lastly, based on NDSIA’s personnel, funding,
developing members and operating, the thesis analyze the current situation of China’s association
and find the mutual problems such as lagging laws and regulations, shortage of necessary function,
lack of professional talents and improving the serving philosophy.
Finally, according to the reality of NDSIA and the great experience from the foreign trade
association developing, the thesis offers solutions such as strengthening the law and regulations,
renovating the management system, building function, increase input in policy and the
