Industrialization Project Management Procedure Optimization of ABC
Company
Abstract
With the tendency of the fast growth of China Automotive industry, the automotive component
companies are expected to deliver higher performances on industrialization lead time, quality
assurance, etc. As a plant belonging to the typical traditional automotive component group, ABC
Company is dedicated in the industrialization for the newly developed products and its
industrialization project management procedure has a series of issues on lead time, quality risk
control, customer satisfaction etc. This thesis is to study how to optimize the current procedure so
that fundamentally solve these issues.
Firstly,this article introduced the theories of project management, the purpose of procedure
optimization and the optimization principles in detail.
Secondly, based on the current industrialization project management procedure APQP, the
author analyzed the major issues of each phase of the procedure,which are also what ABC
company desperately want to solve. Then step into seeking the root causes of the issues by
utilizing different Lean&6sigma analysis tools, such as value stream map, identifying value/non
value added works, 5whys etc- According to the 6 principles of procedure optimization,a new
procedure was designed.
Later, a series of supporting actions were suggested in order to guarantee the smooth
implementation of the new procedure.
Finally, carry out the new procedure on a specific actual project to analyze and verify the
effects and have an outlook of replicating the new procedure to more projects of ABC company.
This dissertation not only has the practical significance for ABC company industrialization
project management, but also have the reference value to some extent for those companies in
automotive industries which have similar issues with ABC company.
